The Prince of Persia series is making it’s long awaited return with Ubisoft resurrecting the series since its last major game release in almost 14 years. This will game will make old school gamers especially happy because the game will take the series back to its roots by featuring side-scroller gameplay. Being one of the more well known game series, this game is a must play for many of us gamers. The story will be action and adventure packed and take place in the fantasy Persian world. For those of us who are more niche gamers and Nintendo Switch owners, you are in for a treat because we are not only getting 1 but 2 games at once with the release of Another Code: Recollection. This is a collection of the Another code series and includes Another Code: Two Memories and its sequel Another Code: R – A Journey into Lost Memories. The story follows a teenage girl named Ashley who unravels the mysteries of her past and family. Now both of these games have been remade and will be released on together on Nintendo Switch on January 19th.

4. The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered

Another older gamer is returning to us this month in the form of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. The last of us franchise may not need an introduction but let’s refresh your memory just in case. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic united states where a fungal pandemic has rendered most of the worlds population either dead or zombified. It is a third-person action-adventure and survival horror game that follows multiple main characters as they traverse a world in chaos by using both stealth and violence.

The Last of Us part 2 was released all the way back in 2020 on the PS4 but it never got properly updated for the PS5. Now with The Last of Us part 2 remastered we will finally be able to replay the game in its full post-apocalyptic glory. The game will be released on January 19th on the PS5.

5. Tekken 8

Fans of fighting games are about to be spoiled because the Tekken franchise is about to return after almost a decade long break with the release of its game Tekken 8. The game is being brought to us by Bandai Namco Entertainment which has us returning to the classic aspects of the Fighting Adventure game but in a more refined manner with more characters, more customization and it is powered by Unreal Engine 5. Get ready to rumble because it will be released on January 26th on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

6. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

The Like a Dragon series is returning with another mainline title, Like a Dragon: Infinite wealth. This game will feature a new protagonist named Ichiban Kasuga but will still include one of the important characters of the previous installments called Kazuma Kiryu. For the first time the game will take place not just in Japan but also Hawaii. The game will also feature a new mode which is reminiscent of Pokémon called sujimon where players can fight and recruit characters in the map. These characters can then be strengthened through combat for which the game has decided to opt for a unique turn based combat system. The game has even taken notes from animal crossing by introducing Dondoko mode where players can customize the island. The game will of course come with all the whacky and weird aspects that the franchise is known for. The game will be released January 26th on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PS4.
